Bronx pols seek to boot sexual predators from family shelters
A group of Bronx lawmakers want sex offenders out of city shelters.
State Sen. Jeff Klein was joined Saturday by Assemblymen Mike Benedetto and Mark Gjonaj outside a hot sheets motel-turned family homeless shelter where a convicted predator was recently housed.
A study by Klein’s office revealed that nine high-level sex offenders are living in family shelters across the borough.
That’s an increase from the three found in a 2015 study.
