For the fifth time since July 2017, new charges have been filed against a former School District 300 substitute teacher accused of sexually abusing children, according to Kane County court records. Two additional underage victims have come forward to accuse Carlos Bedoya, 63, of Lake in the Hills.

Ten victims have been listed in the five separate cases, according to county prosecutors. The number of charges filed against him now totals more than 50.

Newest charges come almost one year after Bedoya was first indicted on 14 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, 21 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of indecent solicitation of a child. Since his indictment, additional charges were filed in July and December 2017 and in January and May 2018, some of which include aggravated sex abuse, attempted predatory criminal sexual assault and attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, court records show.

School District 300 officials declined to comment Monday on the newest counts.

It’s not clear how Bedoya came in contact with the victims. Bedoya was a substitute teacher at Golfview Elementary School in Carpentersville for an undisclosed amount of time.
