A St. John man was sentenced Wednesday to more than six years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.

Christopher Raciti, 48, was sentenced to 78 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana.

Raciti was also ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution and forfeit electronic devices associated with his crime, the release states.

Between Nov. 7, 2015, and March 9, 2016, Raciti possessed more than 600 visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his computer, according to the release. Raciti was charged in January 2018 and pleaded guilty to the charge, the release states.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Toi Denise Houston handled the case and the investigation was headed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
