Family Support Services Gives Tips To Parents

72% of sexual assault cases Family Support Services saw last year were for kids under the age of 12.

And this year, they say they’ve served more children than the year before compared to adults.

While it may seem like child sexual assault cases are increasing in our area, child advocacy groups say, it’s the reporting of child sexual assaults.

We’re told that 91% of sexual assaults go unreported nationally.

“I know that for this year, we’ve served more children than we did the year before compared to the adults,” said Michelle Shields, FSS Crisis Services.
