Some people face horrific experiences in their lives such as being abused. During these times, it’s common for people to develop a disorder called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). According to ptsd.va.org, women are more likely to get this disorder. How can PTSD be treated? It can be treated with medication, but taking pills for long periods of time may have an effect on people and cause more problems.

There are natural and safe ways for people to deal with PTSD.

Homeopathic ways:

According to naturalnews.com, children and adults can use homeopathic and herbal remedies such as:

Mancinella – This is used for people who feel controlled by a spirit of some sort for example aliens or the devil.

Gelsemium – This remedy is used for fears. Signs people should look for are feeling weak, heavy eye lids, and headaches occurring from time to time.

Staphysagria – This is used for people who feel powerless and who can’t defend themselves.

Hops – This remedy is to lower stress, nervousness and restlessness. It can also be used for anxiety disorders, insomnia and pain.

Green tea – This makes the immune system stronger and helps people with PTSD stay away from acute illnesses and long-term diseases.

Valerian – This is used to keep people calm and relaxed. The remedy also works in resisting insomnia, anxiety and grief.

Other techniques

If people do not want to use homeopathic and herbal remedies, naturalnutmeg.com gives people other natural ways to deal with PTSD:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – This is where a therapist works with his or her client to revise or correct inaccurate or distorted thoughts about the traumatic memory.

Guided Imagery – This is a form of meditation where the conversation is focused on the anxiety, depression, grief, insomnia, lowered self-esteem, and traumatic wounds of  PTSD are listened to several times weekly on an MP3 or CD player.

Yoga – This gives people with PTSD the ability to achieve inner quiet, calm and relaxation, and greater comfort with the present moment.

An extremely popular and effective remedy for PTSD is something called EMDR. Look for a blog about that soon.

People with PTSD can have a sense of freedom using these natural methods instead of living their life in a pill box and having to worry if they took it on time. They will finally feel normal again!
