The death of a 1-year-old South Shore boy was ruled a homicide, officials said.
An autopsy Saturday for Ahmir Rosario, of the 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue, determined he died of multiple injuries from child abuse, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Ahmir, whose death was ruled a homicide, was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m. Friday, the office said.
Officer Michelle Tannehill, a spokeswoman for Chicago police, said officers went to the Colfax address about 4:30 a.m. Friday when someone there called to say they put the baby down to sleep, but he was not breathing.
