Board Director

Professor Farina brings over 35 years of professional experience as a corporate executive and management consultant. During his career he held senior level HR generalist and compensation positions with Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and American Express. While with American Express he was assigned to Singapore where he covered the Pacific Rim as an HR executive.

He is currently Distinguished Lecturer and Director of Business Consulting at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY. Since 2015 he has taught courses on leadership development, business strategy and managing multinational corporations.

While at Citigroup he implemented and managed the compensation service center supporting all of Citi’s businesses globally. Prior to that he was head of executive compensation. He managed risk and compliance for several corporate staff offices and was responsible for consolidating HR policies in North America as a result of Travelers’ acquisition of Citicorp.

Before Citicorp, Professor Farina was a senior consultant with Organization Resources Counselors, Inc. (ORC) where he had business development responsibilities and worked with clients across several industries on executive compensation, talent management and organizational strategy. 

He worked for two predecessor companies of JPMorgan Chase & Co. where he was head of HR for corporate and investment banking. He has a track record for developing professional talent and is a certified executive coach.

Professor Farina developed and presented executive development programs at several publicly held companies and served as program chairman at The Conference Board where he was also a guest speaker.

Earlier in his corporate career, he taught in the HR program at New York University and has lectured on compensation, corporate governance and human resources management at Cornell, Yale and the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. For a time he was an advisory board member of the School’s Masters in HR Program.

Professor Farina is a member of the Admissions Committee for the EMBA in Healthcare and also serves on the Board of Directors of Stop Abuse Campaign Corporation.

He co-authored with Cynthia Lenkiewicz, Esq., “The Impact of Recent Corporate Governance Changes in Executive Compensation” in Executive Compensation: the Professional’s Guide to Current Issues and Practices, ed. Michael L. Davis and Jerry T. Edge, Windsor, Ontario, Canada: Windsor Professional Information, 2004, 206-219.

He holds degrees from LaSalle and Long Island Universities. He completed Parts I & II of Teaching With The Case Method at Harvard Business School and completed The Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at Harvard Law School.
